As the opening chords of distortion ring out and the drums build to a sharp climax, there is a genuine feeling of excitement, and Lanterns do nothing to quell that anticipation across the EP’s raging sound. The California four piece washes its songs in waves of glorious feedback. Yet, buried beneath the surface lay shards of melody that penetrate the listener. With anthemic guitars and powerful, thought-provoking lyrics, Lanterns is a beacon of hope in this crowded musical landscape. [ END ]
