If you’re sad, you’re restless, and you miss someone… well, you’ve come to the right place! We invite you to wallow and flounder along with indie rockers braveweather and their latest single “rosecolored” – which we’re now also offering as a free MP3 download. It’s a little ironic that the song is rather upbeat because it’s anything but cheerful from a lyrical point of view.

Lead singer Christian Perez is at his most expressive, as he sings about that realization when you know it’s time to let go of someone close to you, even if you really don’t want to and it’s the most difficult thing you’ve ever had to do. “rosecolored” is indicative of the evocative approach that braveweather bring to their music, a band that is not afraid to bare all, even if it’s their innermost feelings.

Discussing “rosecolored,” Perez explains the band’s approach to the song, stating:

“We put a lot of ourselves into this song, emotionally and creatively. With everything from the lyrics to the beat and the chords we chose, we wanted to be sure that we were creating that feeling you get when you desperately miss someone. We hope that our listeners take this away from the song.”

Based in Orlando, braveweather is rounded out by guitarist Maria Jazel, drummer Tony Alicea, and bassist Anndria Noel. They were founded in 2019 as an indie rock collective interested in writing fast-paced songs about love, loss, mental health, and other personal issues that affect the human psyche. They predominantly grew up on late 1990s and early 2000s indie rock, influences you can detect in their music. Thanks to the online success of previous singles like “white claw,” “play pretend,” and “black&white,” the band now has an audience of over 30,000 on TikTok.

braveweather’s goal isn’t so much to make you feel a particular way; it’s more about just making you feel something. If you did, then braveweather has successfully accomplished its mission with flying colours.
