Stumbleine is the alias of Peter Cooper. With roots in the UK post-rock scene, the reclusive producer began blending slow, dream-like pop with fractured lo-fi beats as Stumbleine in 2012.

Melancholic vocals ebb and flow above submerged guitar ballads. Sand-blasted samples intertwine with broken beats to create music with a nostalgic, fragile warmth. Stumbleine is known for its DIY ethic, releasing music directly to fans or via the independent label Monotreme Records.

His next and eighth studio album, Deleted Scene, will be released on June 14th, 2024, through Monotreme Records. As a taster for the album, V13 is exclusively premiering the new single “Cinderhaze.”

Speaking about the track and how it formed the basis for the rest of the record, Peter explains:

“‘Cinderhaze’ was the first piece of music I wrote for the new album; the beat driven style became a touchstone for the tracks that followed.”

While speaking about the album as a whole, Peter says that it is an escape to a dream state of Stumbleine’s making, captivating yet familiar, and completely enveloping:

Deleted Scene refers to the memories that play over and over inside your own head, replaying hazy copies of hazy copies that evolve into a bittersweet fever dream. Everybody has their own unique collection of deleted scenes slowly distorting and fading away.”

Deleted Scene will be released on June 14th digitally, as a CD in a colour printed slipcase cover and as a limited vinyl edition of 300 copies on 180g white vinyl, which can be pre-ordered here

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
