Charlie Risso Releases Her Brand New Album ‘Alive’
Italian singer-songwriter Charlie Risso has released her brand new full-length album ‘Alive’ via T3 Records.
Singer-songwriter Charlie Risso has released her latest record, Alive. Alive is a collection of ten intense ballads ranging from folk-soul-blues to singer-songwriter tunes, guided by the influence of David Lynch.
Charlie Risso’s new album draws inspiration from distant places that beckon the listener on a journey thanks also to the evocative duet with Hugo Race in “The Wolf,” the sound of the sea and that of the woods, which transforms into melody in “The Bench” and “Keep the Distance,” before venturing into pop bubbles with a dark touch in “Railroad.” The lullabies that cradle the listening experience transport us to the evocative atmospheres reminiscent of Twin Peaks in “By the Lake” and “Bring Me To Life.”
Each track is a portrait of the often conflicting emotions that characterize the human soul. These emotions shape an intense album that accompanies the listener into the depths of Charlie Risso’s music.
Charlie Risso is a singer-songwriter of Genoese origins, musically raised between Milan and London, cosmopolitan, and with a captivating and melancholic sound. Perfectly bilingual, the English in her songs gives the project an international scope, allowing Charlie to erase any geographical boundaries.
Her debut album, Ruins of Memories (2016, Incadenza), produced by M. Cominotto (Meganoidi, Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, among others), immediately receives excellent reviews.
In December 2020, Tornado was released. An intense album inspired by cinematic atmospheres à la Badalamenti, a journey between dream and matter suspended in a limbo of lights and dark brushstrokes. Indie/dream pop/rock is the perfectly successful setting for a work that immediately attracted various film productions (Per Tutta La Vita, Lotus Production, Tramonto a Nord Ovest, Fargo Entertainment).
In November 2022, the EP The Light was released, with artistic production by Federico Dragogna, presented at various live performances, including the Italian openings for Amber Arcades.
In April 2022, Charlie Risso participated in an artistic residency at Lake Studio in Massaciuccoli with Australian musician Hugo Race (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds). This is followed by over a year of work at the recording studio La Tana del Bianconiglio. From the collaboration with Hugo Race, several tracks were born, which are part of the new album Alive, produced by Nicola Baronti, released today via T3 Records. The album also features the participation of virtuoso violinist H.E.R. (Franco Battiato, Morrissey) and Roberto Dell’Era (Afterhours, Calibro 35).
