Death Wishlist Are Fiery and Fierce with Their “I Get Bored” Video Premiere
Italian punk rock act Death Wishlist shows that old-school punk never gets old with the premiere of their “I Get Bored” music video.

There aren’t many guarantees in life, but there is one: Old-school rock n’ roll will never get old, and we have Death Wishlist to affirm again that for us. Check out their brand new music video for “I Get Bored.” It’s vintage punk living its finest hour in the year 2024. The song comes from the band’s debut album, You Are Next, set for release on April 19th via Area Pirata Records.
The video clip is about what you might expect from a song paying its respects to the club punk innovators of yesteryear. It’s filmed from the vantage point of an audience member in a small club that opened decades ago, late on a Friday night around 1 am, taking in the evening’s headliner after many drinks have been enjoyed.
With some words on “I Get Bored” and its accompanying video, the band states:
“The song is about being obliged to cooperate or living with someone that bothers you. Lyrically it’s a burst of rage and boredom, but the meaning of all the songs wants to be funny, not too serious. Even on the line ‘and all I think about is shoot you down,’ that’s just figurative. This is one of the three first songs Death Wishlist ever worked on since the forming of the band.”
In a little over a year, Death Wishlist has worked hard and fast to get to this point. The band hails from Viareggio in the Tuscany region of Central Italy. Their name is about the most perfect one you could find for a punk rock act. But it means the list of people lead singer Cosimo Crott wanted to see dead. It was inspired by all of the pandemonium brought on by the COVID pandemic lockdown. The idea for the name and the band emerged as a defiant response to what the quartet viewed as ridiculous actions and reactions taken by the government to make it seem like they were doing something to fight the virus.
This spirit in which Death Wishlist was born serves as a reminder of their uncompromising approach towards confronting social injustice. You Are Next’s ten tracks were recorded live in the studio and then mixed on an analogic console. All of this happened in just one week to capture the rawness and the spontaneity of the recording process. The songs are all very guitar-driven, meant to infuse them with as much speed and aggressiveness as possible. Energy and urgency reign supreme when you have Death Wishlist behind the wheel. Just make sure you buckle up for an intense ride.
