A Rejuvenated Dream State are ‘Still Dreaming’ as They Bounce Into Manchester YES [Photos]

The last twelve months or so for South Wales rock quartet Dream State has been tumultuous, to say the least. To go from a year where the band was playing on major festivals to supporting Welsh emo favourites Funeral For A Friend at their huge Cardiff gig, to almost splitting up, the reinvigorated group stormed into 2024 with their new EP Still Dreaming, a headline UK tour and a Summer appearance at this year’s Download Festival.

Hitting the road in March for a twelve-date UK run, which took them into early April, the band was joined on the tour by one of the rising names of the UK underground metal scene, Graphic Nature. An act who themselves made waves in 2023 with their dark, twisted, brutal take on the classic nu-metal sound, Graphic Nature, was supporting their critically acclaimed album A Mind Wanting To Die. Delivering their own short, sharp shock of metallic bleakness, the group’s sound is the polar opposite of the headliners.

As for the headliners, they recently dropped their new single, “Anxious State of Mind,” one of the highlight tracks from the recent EP, with the band stating that it was one of their favourites and one they were looking forward to performing live. Explaining the track was about overcoming change and navigating through a difficult chapter; Dream State, the 2024 version, seems to be a whole new beast. With the fire reignited in the Welsh rockers, the band is smashing through a 14-song set performing five of the six tracks from the aforementioned EP kicking off their set with the title track.
