Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Anna Margo unveils her new single/music video, “You,” from her upcoming EP, If You’re Still There, slated for release this summer.

Talking about the song, which she co-produced with Timbaland, Anna shares, “‘You’ is a song about having all of the right reasons to leave a relationship or friendship for good, but not being able to disconnect from your feelings from that person.”

A classically trained pianist, Anna began her musical journey with the masters: Beethoven, Chopin, Bach, and Rachmaninoff, along with composers such as Hans Zimmer and Ramin Djawadi. She followed by studying dynamic vocalists like Aaliyah, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey and attending Berklee College of Music.

Akin to mystical predestination, Anna first connected with Timbaland while working on her forthcoming EP. A friend suggested she tune into Timbaland’s live session on TikTok. When she did, she found herself in line to play her music for him.

After hearing “Place,” Timbaland invited Anna to Miami, where they collaborated on “My Way,” released on Def Jam Recordings in 2023. The pair joined forces once more on “You.”

“You” opens on a low-slung, brooding piano topped by Anna’s soulfully moving vocals, interweaving with the musing melody. Suffused by passionate emotions yearning for the unattainable, Anna’s voice imbues the lyrics with intense poignancy. It’s a grand, expressive voice capable of spellbinding tonal subtleties.

Juxtaposing her evocative voice against spectral R&B flavors, “You” reveals a wonderfully lucid magnetism.
