Birds of Avalon – “Shadowy End” [Free Download]
Birds of Avalon have spent the 4 years of their existence on the road with The Racontuers, The Flaming Lips, Black Mountain, The Fucking Champs, Mudhoney, Monotonix, and Ted Leo and more. They are a band’s-band, no doubt. Husband-and-wife guitarists Paul Siler and Cheetie Kumar are also owners of Raleigh’s famed Kings Barcade venue.
The Skinny: Birds of Avalon have spent the 4 years of their existence on the road with The Racontuers, The Flaming Lips, Black Mountain, The Fucking Champs, Mudhoney, Monotonix, and Ted Leo and more. They are a band’s-band, no doubt. Husband-and-wife guitarists Paul Siler and Cheetie Kumar are also owners of Raleigh’s famed Kings Barcade venue.
Flaming Lips Kliph Scurlock got an early listen to the album and hyped it on a Spinner interview last year. The track is from their S/T album that is out on Bladen County Records (the Love Language, Moneybrother, Builders and the Butchers) for CD/Digital and soon on Gigantic Music (Walkmen, Harlem Shakes) for Vinyl. It is another analog-only collaboration with Mitch Easter (REM, Wilco, Pavement) that builds on the pop-aesthetic of Bazaar Bazaar but blazes new progressive trails while anticipating the psychedelic experimentation of Uncanny Valley.
