Scarlet Veil Premiere Their Ethereal Wave Album ‘Every Fantasy’
At times hushed, at other times expansively lush, Scarlet Veil’s ‘Every Fantasy’ is bewitching, mesmeric, and magnificently appointed.

Electronic music production duo Scarlet Veil, composed of Jerrod Tyler, aka WARLOK, and Brandi Overstreet, aka Sodie, unveil their debut album, Every Fantasy, which amalgamates elements of witch house, ethereal wave, and melodic bass music.
Scarlet Veil’s sound features rumbling basslines, potent percussion with rapid-fire hi-hats, and mounting, spectral synths, revealing sweeping, atmospheric surfaces as Sodie’s dreamy, Siren-like vocals hover overhead on translucent tendrils.
Last year, the pair released their debut EP, Tether. This was followed by their A/B release, “Apparitions I.”
Comprising eight tracks, Every Fantasy begins with “Sunder,” which opens on slowly emerging tones flowing into a layered dream-pop melody, shimmering with luminous colours. Sodie’s vocals imbue the lyrics with sailplaning textures.
“Wild wicked call (take hold) / Tone gilded crawl / Sunder now the stone / Glint glitter below.”
Personal favourites include the hypnotic “Repose,” with its floating-on-water feel, a feeling that takes on surging intensity as the synths elevate to airy, tinsel overlays. Sodie’s light, sinuous vocals give the lyrics fan-like surfaces, spreading softly like a mist.
Dark and moody, “Kraken” ripples and swirls with seething synths, while “Fervent Sigil” forges a cerebral escapade, highlighted by echoing harmonies and a tempestuous bridge.
Scarlet Veil explains:
“The theme for ‘Fervent Sigil’ was really grounded in desperately wanting to will something into existence, and while writing we drew a lot of inspiration from our different musical backgrounds and interests. We incorporated elements from Jerrod’s time as a progressive metal guitarist into the breakdown which isn’t something we’ve heard a lot of in electronic music. We wanted to take elements from the metal world and work them into our music.”
At times hushed, at other times expansively lush, Every Fantasy is bewitching, mesmeric, and magnificently appointed.
