This is Not a “Simulation!” Garage Rockers GLADSHOT Tackle Reality in Their New Music Video [Exclusive Premiere]
Lifted from their late-2017 release, These Are Vitamins, New York’s “bold garage rock” duo known as Gladshot are today taking you through a “Simulation” with their brand new music video.
The “bold garage rock” band known as Gladshot are taking you through a “Simulation” today courtesy of their brand new music video. Then “Simulation” single can be found on the duo’s late-2017 release, These Are Vitamins, which, if you haven’t yet, you can buy via BandCamp. When commenting on the new song and video therof, the group kept it brief, stating, “‘Simulation’ is inspired by the hologram universe and casinos.” Hmm, that’s an interesting combination of inspirations if we do say so ourselves!
The creative powers that helped Gladshot come to be are the twosome of Debb Andrews and Mike Blaxill. True musicians at heart, Andrews and Blaxill met uniquely at a songwriter collective that performed and critiqued one another’s songs. At the time, the two came from very different musical backgrounds, with Blaxill being more versed in roots rock while Andrews’ style veered more towards her pop influences and jazz skills. Interestingly enough, Andrews earned herself a National Endowment for the Arts and lessons with the highly esteemed pianist Joanne Brackeen. Judging by their experiences, it’s a wonder that Gladshot is a garage flavoured rock band heavily influenced by the Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Crowded House and Marvin Gaye, among many others.
Celebrate with your “Fabulous Friends” with another video from Gladshot.
Released in fall 2017, These Are Vitamins is Gladshot’s sophomore release, produced by the highly respected John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Kurt Vile, Waxahatchee). For These Are Vitamins, Andrews and Blaxhill have added bassist Jeff Murphy (Brazilian Girls) who along with drummer Tony Mason and guitarist Tim Bright round out the band’s lineup. “Simulation” was the first single from These Are Vitamins, but it’s only now being given a proper video release. With a firm lineup intact and passion behind their music, the future is looking up for these New Yorkers.
Upcoming Show Date:
06/03 – Brooklyn – Baby’s All Right, with Maxband (mem. Parquet Courts)
