BEHEMOTH, LOVE BITES, BATUSHKA and Forty More Reasons DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL 2019 will be Unforgettable
Download Festival has weighed in with another 43 new additions to the stacked bill for their 2019 rock weekender. Check out who has just been added right here!
There are less than five months to go now until over sixty thousand rock fans descend on Castle Donington for the annual rock party of the Summer that is Download Festival and if the likes of Slipknot, Def Leppard and Tool (not to mention Slayer, Lamb Of God and a stack more) aren’t enough, organisers have started 2019 all guns blazing with a staggering 43 new additions to the bill.
Here are our top five picks of the new additions along with the full list of new additions to the line-up:
1. Behemoth
The Polish satanic heavyweights may be playing an early afternoon slot in the sunshine of the Main Stage but we fully expect Nergal and his black-hearted henchmen to rain down all manner of hell on the sunbaked crowd.
2. Fever 333
It’s been twelve months since Fever 333 made their not-so-secret debut on the Avalanche stage at Download Festival 2018. Their set was one of the most talked about of the weekend so, if they come anywhere close to matching the chaos of that set, expect their 2019 return to be equally as unforgettable.
3. Batushka
While we’re hoping for glorious sunshine this June in Leicestershire, we’re equally as excited about the opportunity to get a blast of bleak black metal from the mysterious Polish oufit known as Batushka.
4. Skid Row
The American hard rock stars are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their shit-kicking debut and, although the 2019 incarnation of the band no longer features original frontman Sebastian Bach, we still fully expect a set filled with hits from their iconic debut album.
5. Love Bites
Due to timing problems at Bloodstock Festival last year, these four Japanese girls were thrust quickly into the limelight with a last minute shift onto the Main Stage instead of Suicidal Tendencies. Despite obvious nerves, they acquitted themselves admirably so, this time round, we’re expecting them to shred the shit out of the Download crowd!
