Pitchfork Festival Announces Acts for November London Events

Pitchfork today announced the return of Pitchfork Music Festival London, taking place 5 – 10 November 2024. The festival also released the first wave of artists set to perform throughout the week, including Tierra Whack, Arooj Aftab, CASISDEAD, Sega Bodega, Kae Tempest, Empress Of, Billy Woods, Moor Mother, Drugdealer, Snow Strippers, Shame, Marika Hackman, Pom Pom Squad, Friko, Chanel Beads and many more. This year’s inner city festival event series is set to be the biggest yet – illuminating the capital over six days with the hottest new and established artists across an array of genres.

On Tuesday 5 November, with a curated supporting bill to be announced, Kae Tempest will host a special night at London’s KOKO performing from their rich back catalogue, in anticipation of new music to come.

New York rapper Billy Woods will headline an unmissable night at Fabric on Wednesday 6 November, following the release of his album, Maps, which ranked number 3 in Pitchfork’s albums of 2023. He’ll be joined by the US poet, musician, and activist Moor Mother, Armand Hammer collaborator Elucid (with a new album released), and producer Goya Gumbani. EartH Theatre will feature sets from the Guatemalan cellist at the Heart of Mexico City’s avant-rock scene, Mabe Fratti, British experimental three-piece, Still House Plants and hotly tipped saxophonist/composer Cole Pulice.

On Thursday 7 November, a special show from Pakistani singer, composer, producer and Grammy award-winning artist Arooj Aftab will take place at The Roundhouse with a hugely exciting supporting cast across the main room and studio theatre including Sheherazaad, Zsela, and more. Islington Assembly Hall will see an underground bedroom/psych-pop triple bill with Drugdealer, Good Morning and June Mcdoom. Fabric will welcome dazzling pop auteur Empress Of, UK future-pop act Tatyana and further special guests, whilst US rave-pop sensations Snow Strippers will host a party not to be missed at Village Underground, with acts such as Suzy Sheer and more joining.

London producer Sega Bodega will headline a special club event at Here at Outernet on Friday 8 November, having built a reputation as one of the UK’s most innovative and precocious creative minds with his own brand of deconstructed club music. Doss will also join the club ready bill running 8pm-1am.

At Troxy on Saturday 9 November, the BRIT award-winning producer and UK rap and grime MC CASISDEAD will curate an exclusive Pitchfork London bill, performing live with an array of special guests. Over the past decade, CASISDEAD has dipped in and out of the shadows, blessing fans with cult hits while maintaining his anonymity–shunning media attention and rejecting the spotlight.

The festival also announced the return of the Saturday Dalston Takeover, which spotlights the most exciting new acts of the moment. One wristband will give attendees access to five venues in Dalston (EartH Hall, Theatre, St Matthias Church, Shacklewell Arms & Victoria). One of the capital’s most electrifying live acts, the Dead Oceans-signed, post-punk band, Shame, will headline, alongside the acclaimed songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Marika Hackman, following the release of her new album, Big Sigh. Other artists on the bill include Brooklyn grunge band Pom Pom Squad, the Chicago trio Friko, Horse Jumper Of Love, La Lom, Rocket, Sword II, Whitelands, Babehoven, Annastasia Coope, Untitled (Halo), YHWH nailgun, Chanel Beads and Slow Fiction. Early bird tickets go on-sale now.

Rounding off the festival, Tierra Whack will headline The Roundhouse on Sunday 10 November, bringing her undeniably unique take on contemporary rap and R&B to the stage for her only UK performance of the year. She will be joined by Miso Extra, Jawnino and the enigmatic rapper and singer, Elsy Wameyo. Over at EartH theatre, the post-indie project of the prolific songwriter, photographer, and record collector Glenn Donaldson, The Reds, Pinks & Purples, will headline with special guests, Rosali and Armlock.
