Rise Against‘s 2017 fall Tour began on September 14th – and hit Minneapolis, MN a few days later on September 23rd at the Skyway Theatre. The show was opened by Canadian rock band White Lung – who put on a striking performance that fired up the crowd.

Next was Pierce The Veil who put on a damn good show as always – opening with “Bulls in the Bronx” and playing fan favorites like “Caraphernelia” and “King for a Day.” While waiting for Rise Against to take the stage, I heard fans of Rise Against that have never seen or heard of Pierce The Veil before say it was one of the best sets they had seen in a long time.

After much anticipation, Rise Against took the stage and opened their set with “Long Forgotten Sons” and “Give It All” where vocalist Tim McIlrath serenaded the crowd from the photo pit with some help from security. Halfway through their performance, they played my favorite song (and the first Rise Against song I ever heard) “Swing Life Away.” All I can say is holy shit – this will be a show I’ll always remember!

Don’t forget to catch Rise Against on tour with Pierce The Veil and White Lung through October 6th.
