White Lung

Vancouver’s melodic punkers, White Lung, shared new track “Blow It South” online via SoundCloud – listen above. The song comes as the A-side to their upcoming 7″ set for release on November 5th via Deranged Records (USA/CA) and Sex Beat Records (UK). After a vigorous year of touring, their TV debut with Carson Daly and knocking out Bonnaroo, Pitchfork, NXNE, SXSW, plus other fests, White Lung wrap up 2013 in the studio and a tour down to Austin’s Fun Fun Fun Fest with San Jose’s eclectic rapper/musician Antwon.

Vancouver’s furious yet melodic punk band White Lung’s second LP, Sorry (Deranged Records) was released last year and pushed the band to a wider audience receiving critical acclaim from SPIN, Pitchfork, Bitch and gained Rolling Stone’s “Top 10 Albums Of The Year” for 2012. Listen to the album Sorry just below.

White Lung is a mostly female band from Vancouver, British Columbia who formed in 2006 and plays some good old fashioned Canadian punk rock. They first got noticed as part of the Vancouver Emergency Room scene which helped make the band a hit locally. In their relatively short time together, these guys have received some wide acclaim for their music, including Exclaim! magazine naming the band’s 2010 debut album It’s the Evil the 2010 Canadian punk rock record of the year. If that wasn’t enough, in 2011 the band received a nomination for Punk/Hardcore Artist/Group of the Year at the Canadian Music Week Indie Awards.
