Ottawa’s New Swears have premiered their latest song “Dance With The Devil” from their new LP And the Magic of Horses that’s due out June 23rd on Dine Alone Records. This is the band’s first for Dine Alone and follow up to their DIY release from 2014 Junkfood Forever, Bedtime Whatever.
“Dance With the Devil” retains the rough-and-tumble charm of the band’s earlier releases but shows that New Swears have grown with their sound as a band and have refined their approach to production and arrangements to better illustrate their abilities as songwriters.
Bassist Sammy said: “‘Dance With The Devil’ was written over the course of a long night with the help of an old friends. We wrote the song in an old Quebec cottage after a long night turned morning of beers and skipping stones. The cottage belonged to the devil himself, Buddy Smiles, who used to live on our couch and takes a guest verse on this song.”
