Episode Summary: On the brand new episode of The Governor’s Ball, the mighty Governor himself brings you his Wacken Open Air 2008 Special! Featuring interviews and music from this most powerful metal festival in northern Germany. First The Governor encounters Enslaved guitarist Ivar Bjornson who was at Wacken to promote their new album Vertebrae, and to perform with the horror film music ensemble Dream of An Opium Eater. The Governor and Ivar discuss the new album, ownership of the elements, and bad backstage behaviour. Following that The Governor confronts vocalist Tim Lambesis of As I Lay Dying for a conversation about metal-core stereotypes, Christianity in metal, and his new Governor tribute project Austrian Death Machine. Then it’s on to monster rockers and Eurovision winners Lordi. The Governor intimidates guitarist Amen and drummer Kita and questions them about their monster personas and their intense exposure. Finally you get to enjoy a drunken encounter between The Governor and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt. Also on this episode The Governor brings you music from the winner of the 2008 Wacken Metal Battle: The Fading from Israel.
