Join French Dark-Pop Duo Dalhia As They Take a Trip to “Miami”
From loneliness to hope, French dark pop duo Dalhia takes us on a journey of light and contrast in new single “Miami”. Check it out here.
Formed in 2019 by singer and composer Rachel Geffroy and Simon Vouland drummer, Paris-based dark-pop duo, Dalhia, explore the dark and cavernous nuances of electronic and psychedelic music. Using influences as varied as Post-Punk and Hip-Hop, Dalhia describes their sound as “macabre dances where tortured pop and hypnotic rhythms mix.”
The duo are back with a brand new track “Miami”. The track is lifted from their forthcoming EP due out on 13th May through cult French label Banshies.
If you’re ready, you can immerse yourself in their dark-pop sound here:
Following on from the recent single, “Viva 4 Ever”, “Miami” retains dark pop sensibilities through treasured songwriting. Dalhia deal in themes of disenchantment, sexuality, relationships and hope, carved out in their own bittersweet, inimitable style.
Speaking about the track, they say: “‘Miami’ deals with the loss of a romantic relationship. Depression and loneliness in the face of loss are brought to light and contrast radically with the daydreams metaphorized by the Florida landscapes evoked: Key Biscayne. This chiaroscuro invites us to think of a paradox in the emotions felt in the face of mourning.”
