Jaxyn Lethe – ‘I am I don’t know’ [EP] [Album Review]
Across the EP, Jaxyn Lethe’s vocal performance displays the evolving scope of her singing, stretching from silky smooth to airy contemplation.

Electro-pop singer and producer Jaxyn Lethe unveils her new EP, I am I don’t know, a danceable, indie-electronic set of songs, all written, produced, mixed, and mastered by Lethe.
Talking about the title track, Lethe says, “I wrote ‘I am I don’t know’ on a vacation to Croatia with my family while I was falling asleep. I imagine the title to mean both ‘I am ‘I don’t know,’ like someone doesn’t know what you mean to them, but also ‘I am I don’t know’ when you don’t know who you are to yourself.”
Saturated in unflinching “bedroom-pop” flair, Lethe merges various flavors of electronic styles, ranging from techno to indie-sleaze.
On a full scholarship, Lethe studied electronic production and design and independent recording and production at Berklee College of Music. In 2022, she released her debut single, “What do you do with no one,” followed by “So Much Cooler,” which landed on Spotify’s Fresh Indie Finds playlist.
The EP embraces five tracks, beginning with “White Noise,” riding crunchy percussion topped by glossy, layered synths bubbling with shiny textures that give the melody an effervescent sensation.
Entry points include the title track, traveling on a mid-tempo, syncopated beat as Lethe’s dreamy voice infuses the lyrics with hints of musing timbres. Tinged with surfaces of dream-pop, the tune reflects a pensive mood as Lethe deciphers who she is.
Highlighted by ’000s gooey fibers, “So Much Fun” exhibits the clashing undertones of rapidly fluctuating synths and Lethe’s hypnotic vocals, backed by soft, radiant harmonies.
Opening on droning synths and a thumping rhythm, “R2N” pulsates with lustrous savors of electro-pop and dance, creating a retro-laced melody glowing with gliding vibrancy. Velvety vocals imbue the lyrics with wistful tones, eschewing any hint of edginess.
Across the EP, Jaxyn Lethe’s vocal performance displays the evolving scope of her singing, stretching from silky smooth to airy contemplation.
