Mia McIntosh Premieres the Music Video for Her New Single “Stoplights”
On her latest single/music video, “Stoplights,” singer-songwriter and producer Mia McIntosh swaps the luminous, piano-laced surfaces of her previous song, “Who Are You,” for delicate hues of electropop.
On her latest single/music video, “Stoplights,” singer-songwriter and producer Mia McIntosh swaps the luminous, piano-laced surfaces of her previous song, “Who Are You,” for delicate hues of electropop.
Speaking about the new song, McIntosh shares:
“I’m so grateful to be able to share this song with the world! It was inspired by my sense that everyone is fighting their own invisible battle, and that sometimes we don’t realize what others are going through until it is too late. That said, I hope people feel free to interpret ‘Stoplights’ in a way that is meaningful to them. I also hope the song inspires people to check in with each other and to ask for help when they need it. With the music video, which was shot a few months ago, I hope to convey the emotions behind the song in an intimate, personal way.”
Originally from New York City and now based in Maryland, McIntosh grew up listening to her parents’ collection of classic singer-songwriters, along with contemporary pop music.
According to McIntosh, she began writing music in elementary school, followed by producing and publishing her songs in high school. Typically, she begins with lyrics and then crafts melodies around them.
Ranging from whispery translucence to velvety, crystalline tones, McIntosh’s voice glows like a soft laser across the chiming notes of the keyboards, presenting a refreshing sonic elegance not generally prevalent in modern pop music.
Currently studying at a prestigious music conservatory, Mia McIntosh continues to write new music, exploring diverse sonic styles.
