Hear Neutral Snap’s Revved-Up Banger “I Think I’m Falling in Love with a Girl from the Circus” [Song Premiere]

The sparks of love can fly in strange places, and with the most unexpected people, but really, the circus? With their latest single “I Think I’m Falling in Love with a Girl from the Circus,” New Orleans up-and-comers, Neutral Snap are recognizing all of the unusual ways that love can come calling for us, with the single a story of how lead singer Josh Latham fell for a girl who performed in the circus.

It’s the second track off of the band’s sophomore full-length Tell Me How I Feel, due for release on October 22nd. The revved-up, emotional, pop-punk banger follows the release of the album’s first single “I’m Crazy (But You) Like That,” with both songs offering an indication of the energetic approach the group is heading in with this new release.

Commenting on the song, the band collectively offered, “‘I Think I’m Falling In Love With A Girl From The Circus’ is about just that, Josh met a girl who is proficient in circus arts and the song describes how their relationship started. This song is one of our more pop-oriented songs on the album with lots of imagery and literal meanings throughout the song. We also are huge fans of excessively long song titles and we want to try bringing that trend back to the mainstream.”

The coming release of Tell Me How I Feel will follow up the successful release of Neutral Snap’s 2020 debut record Sorry, I Passed Out. There’s certainly lots of fun to be had throughout the record’s eleven tracks, but it does strike a serious tone at times, with lyrical topics including romantic and familial relationships, mental health, and adjusting to our new way of life since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The album was heavily motivated by the extraordinary times we find ourselves in, circumstances we never even thought possible. From a songwriting point of view, it’s the pinnacle of Neutral Snap’s work thus far, since their formation in 2018. Tell Me How I Feel has a little something for everyone, a musical expedition they hope you will join them on.
