The Largest Rock Festival in America Is Back!
September 2021 is looking to be one to remember with the number of festivals that are being scheduled to take place due to postponements and cancellations from 2020. One of the biggest festivals in the country (USA) is roaring back this year on the final weekend of the month. Louder Than Life has announced its extensive four-day lineup for 2021 and it is MONSTROUS!
Held in Louisville, Kentucky the Danny Wimmer-produced festival is in its 7th year; and despite two cancelled festivals, 2018 and 2020, the multi-genre rock fest has grown to be the largest-ever in America with an incredible 128,000 fans in attendance in 2019.
Check out our coverage for the 2019 festival right here.
Breaking Down The Lineup
With such a crowded festival season, the question is how do you stand out in a sea of so many options? For starters, you book Metallica for two nights of the festival to play two unique sets. Next, you have festival favourite, Korn headlining the first night. Then, you bring in industrial rock legends Nine Inch Nails to cap off Saturday night. Add in some bands whose careers have spanned decades with Judas Priest, Jane’s Addiction, Staind, and Anthrax; Along with some consistently great rockers like Rise Against, Gojira, Sevendust, Killswitch Engage, Avatar, and Seether, then add a dash of hip-hop heavyweights with the Doggfather himself, Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, and rapper turned pop-punk frontman, Machine Gun Kelly.
Oh, and you also can’t forget the new guard leading the way with Knocked Loose, Beartooth, Code Orange, and Wage War. Not to mention international bands like The Hu, Spiritbox, Sabaton, and Bones UK sprinkled in. Oh yeah, and the return of a little group from the 2000s named, Mudvayne!
This lineup covers all of the bases. To say there are too many bands to name is an understatement.
Every time you look down the lineup another name jumps out at you. Over 70 Bands from different genres and eras have formed one of the most eclectic rock festivals of the year. If you need to start your research to refine your must-see list check out the official Louder Than Life playlist here.
