Waiting For Smith’s “Long Life” Video Confirms Everything Will Be OK
Ski instructor turned singer-songwriter, Harry Lloyd, who performs under the moniker Waiting For Smith, just released the new single (and video), “Long Life,” via Global Music Company Audio Network. The song’s accompanying Wes Anderson-inspired music video, which can be viewed below, was filmed in Madrid, Spain and depicts everyday folk happilly going about their daily routines.
Lloyd comments, “This song was planned for release months ago, not knowing it would be so suited for the time we’re in. So I’m hoping it will bring others as much comfort and lightness as it gave me when I needed it.” Of Wes Anderson’s influence on the clip, he adds, “I love his symmetry. He makes every shot look like a painting. You can’t help but take life a little less seriously after watching one of his movies. And that’s what I really wanted to get across with the music video, a sense of play.”
As for the Julian Emery-recorded (Nothing But Thieves) and Ren Swan-mixed song, well, Lloyd confides, “I wrote ‘Long Life’ while I was recovering from my injury, it became my upbeat theme tune for dealing with disaster.”
