Since these are tough times, we have “A Love Song” to get you through the day courtesy of Wesley Chapel, Florida-based band, Saved By Friday. The track is featured on the alternative pop group’s new Three EP, due out on April 24th. The music video will stir up all of those lovey-dovey feelings and vibes that will make you want to arrange a romantic date… one, that will have to take place at your own dinner table. Oh well, it could be worse.

“A Love Song” is an accurate representation of what you’ll hear on the other three songs that appear on Three. It’s not all love and positive vibes that you’ll find on Three, though, but rather an emotional affair with topics of fear, depression, and closure also examined. The four-song collection is somewhat of an emotional roller coaster covering fear, apprehension, romantic love, depression and closure.

Lead singer Cordell Carl McWilliams offers more insight into “A Love Song” and where the music video was shot. “This is basically a self-aware love song about words not being enough. Anyone can say that they love someone, but showing means a lot more and takes more effort, and this song is an attempt to highlight that concept. For the video, we went to Clearwater, Florida and dressed up all formally to create a vaguely 1960s sort of date vibe. We shot it with the producer, Spencer Bradham and his video company, Bison Films Entertainment. Drake Sweet was the videographer, while Spencer was the director.”

Formed in 2011, Saved By Friday previously got the ball rolling with their self-titled debut EP in 2014 which was then followed up with the five-track EP Jaded which they recorded with Man Overboard’s Nik Bruzzese and The Early November’s Ace Enders. On the touring side of things, they have opened for bands such as Mayday Parade and New Politics. Things may seem bleak, which is why it’s a perfect time to get more into the charming alternative pop of Saved By Friday.
