Mechanical Roots – “Broken Record” [Free Song Download]
Mechanical Roots is an alt-rock three-piece hailing from the sunny climes of Los Angeles. Built around the musical strengths of Kev O’Brien, Zach Gaston, and Patricia Teles, the band blend intense rock energy with mature melodics and smooth vocal work. With an EP and a few singles under their belt, Mechanical Roots’ newest release is the scintillating track, “Broken Record,” which dropped April 4th. Another tune to hold fans over until the band releases their debut album, No Shelter, Mechanical Roots are now offering “Broken Record” as a free download.
On the energetic song, the band says, “This is one of our most collaborative songs to date. Instead of our usual process of building the songs around the guitar/vocals, this one started with the bass riff you hear at the beginning of the track.”
The song bumps and hums with controlled energy whilst driving purposefully towards the soaring chorus. Underpinned by the aforementioned bass riff, “Broken Record” employs the always-successful strategy of a shining middle-fifth, allowing the tune’s thematic heartbeat to push to the forefront. So, instead of listening to the same thing repeated ad nauseam, download Mechanical Roots’ newest song and enjoy a broken record that actually works.
