Duff McKagan Shares Positive Words Amidst COVID-19 Chaos
Surpassing maybe even the government, there exist many rock and rollers who look out for our well-being. Take, for example, Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan who recently posted on his Instagram profile some soft-spoken and heartfelt words.
“More than any time, it seems we must reach out a hand and take care of our fellow man. Take a breath…this will pass. Use tenderness and compassion. I wish all of you calm and peace in this trying time.”
Duff rode the proverbial nighttrain, drinking and drugging himself into the halls of rock and roll infamy but, in 1994, he about bit the bullet when developing acute pancreatitis from using and abusing almost anything under the sun and moon. Now, decades sober with a couple of books under his belt, the dojo master leans his clean words of lesions to the unexpectant no matter your vulnerability.
“In my early days, I was in similar situations, so I know what it’s like to not have anyone to turn to and sometimes need a helping hand to get back on my feet. I know many know others in need and I am hoping that, if we come together, we can help make a difference.”
In passing, don’t rely on the pessimistic or optimistic media cocktails, because you can look at it either way. You shall not pass, or, this too shall pass, and like Duff, I believe we’ve got this, Friends.
