Michael Bernard Fitzgerald – “Rip My Heart Out” [Free Song Download]
Calgary, Alberta-based singer-songwriter, Michael Bernard Fitzgerald, continues to celebrate his upcoming Dennis Herring-produced album, due September 21st, and is offering a free download of the powerful second single, “Rip My Heart Out”.
Calgary, Alberta-based singer-songwriter, Michael Bernard Fitzgerald, has been super-busy compiling his upcoming recording with Grammy Award-winning producer Dennis Herring (Modest Mouse, Ra Ra Riot, Wavves) and, as of today, we’re excited to be offering a free download of the album’s powerful second single “Rip My Heart Out”.
Blending the goodness of acoustic, folk, soul, rock and more, MBF’s new album will drop on September 21st and follows 2016’s I Wanna Make It With You and 2013’s YES. “Rip My Heart Out”, according to Fitzgerald, “is about that fire between two people.”
He elaborates as follows: “I originally wrote the lyric with Josiah Rosen (Augustana) on Abbott Kinney blvd in Venice. We didn’t have an instrument with us but found a melody that we liked. I came home and recorded the vocal with a single note in the headphones for pitch and a click for timing. We sent that file to Dennis and he created the feel. I’d never done a song like that, but ended up loving the process.”
Now that you have the new single, check out the “Heartbeat of America” video.
