So-Cal Rockers FELLOW ROBOT Present: ‘The Robot’s Guide to Music Vol.1’ [Exclusive Premiere]
Artificial intelligence, sentient beings, and savvy, musically-inclined robots… this is the world of Long Beach, CA rock trio, Fellow Robot and their debut full-length, The Robot’s Guide To Music Vol. 1.
After a ton of hard work and patience, Long Beach, CA rock trio, Fellow Robot is finally ready to unveil their debut full-length recording. Titled The Robot’s Guide To Music Vol. 1, the eleven-track self-released album drops on June 29th and can be pre-ordered via Apple Music. Part post-rock, part folk, and part alternative, the So-Cal group is most importantly, all heart. An ambition effort, Vol. 1 is actually the first instalment of a three-part concept series to be released… all in 2018 (30+ songs were recorded).
For those of you who are new to the indie world of Fellow Robot, the project was founded by singer/songwriter Anthony Pedroza who, along with drummer Luis Renteria, grabbed a pile of friends and realized this adventurous undertaking that is extracted from Pedroza’s fascination with artificial intelligence and Sci-Fi. With Volumes 2 and 3 following suit this year, plus a novel in the works, it’s safe to say these artists are going to be crazy-busy for many months to come.
“In 2016, I began working on a science fiction novel about a 140 year old robot,” says Pedroza. “Although I had been a songwriter for many years, I had never written a work of fiction before. I was also working through a life-changing injury at the time, so the narrative of Fellow Robot (musically and from the standpoint of the book) has been an emotional journey for me.”
Whether or not you’re already familiar with the band, according to lead singer Anthony Pedroza:
“‘Volume 1’ is the perfect introduction to the Fellow Robot Universe. ‘Volume 1’ is filled with so many great memories and feelings, however sad or happy they may be. It has been a fantastic experience bringing the characters to life through the music with so many great musicians. We are very proud of the continuity the album has considering we worked with 14 different Long Beach musicians.”
