Don’t Be ‘Too Afraid To Say’ You Dig THE ONES YOU FORGOT’s New EP [Exclusive Premiere]
A day before they drop their Too Afraid To Say EP globally, we’re stoked to stream the full new album from New Jersey’s pop rock/punk quintet The Ones You Forgot.
What’s up with New Jersey lately? There seems to be an unending stream of dope new bands coming from the “turnpike state” with The Ones You Forgot being yet another solid example. The hooky quintet scream pop rock/punk goodness and their loyal local fans are eagerly-awaiting the June 29th release of the Too Afraid To Say EP, which you can pre-order here. Riding high on the early success of lead singles “Here Forever” and “One Step Ahead” (the former’s video you can check out below), we’re fortunate to have teamed up with the group to debut the ENTIRE album a full day before it drops.
The Jenna Bruno-led fivesome also includes the instrumental skills of guitarists Ferdinand Benauro and Matt Thompson, drummer Justin Rodman and bassist Lance Nelson. The Rob Freeman-produced/mixed Too Afraid To Say is the band’s sophomore recording and was mastered by Rogue Planet Mastering.
Speaking candidly of the tracks’ lyrical content and general album theme, Jenna notes:
“In some way, shape, or form, each song on the EP tells a story of something I was LITERALLY too afraid to say, whether that be to a loved one, someone who hurt me, or even to myself. Even though I wrote the lyrics myself, this collection of songs has taught me that fear is a very normal feeling, and that we all battle it in different ways.”
You can peep the “Here Forever” video here, forever.
