Sean Beresford is Big City Cough, a Torontonian musician who’s debut album, Born At Night, is an excellent amalgamation of experimental and instrumental music with elements of acoustic and ambient. This is aural fodder of the extremely chilled-out variety and will have you so relaxed you’ll be sliding off your seat. The Born At Night EP dropped on November 3rd, 2017, and can be heard on both Bandcamp and SoundCloud, plus we’re now also offering a free download of the single “Moon Corner”.
Said Beresford of his new recording: “The album title came from the fact that I’m a night owl… I tend to burn the midnight oil all the time, and the creation of the material and sometimes the execution of the recordings was in keeping with that. Most of it was conceived in the middle of the night. Maybe it’s the musician in me… although one time my Mom said to me “You know you were born at night, right??” Maybe it’s in the core fibre of who I am. I was born at night, and so were the songs.”
