UK indie rockers, The Heavy, brought their brand of raucous to Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom on May 2, 2016. The energy was so high before the band even took the stage, and when they did, the Commodore patrons just got wilder. The Heavy are a seamless mix of heavy instrumentals and a sing-a-long style of soul that definitely gets your blood moving. Even when they played tracks from their very newly-released album Hurt & The Merciless, the show goers ate it all up, already knowing the lyrics to every tune.

The Heavy is fronted by Kelvin Swaby who spends his whole time at the end of the stage fully interracting with the fans. And while Kelvin is certainly fronting the group, he is by no means the sole lead; every band member has their moment in the light. The fans who were at the Commodore to see The Heavy were a refreshing mix of all ages (over 19) and were all equally amped which, in turn, only fueled the excellent, exciting ambiance.

The Heavy live is non-stop fun, a perfect answer to Monday.
