Freya Wilcox & The Howl – “Bareknuckle Love” [EP Review]
With a voice plucked straight from the blues era, check out our review of the latest release from these power-pop/blues infused rockers here.

Freya Wilcox & The Howl’s debut release Bareknuckle Love is as raw as the album title. Recorded on one of Dave Grohl’s Neve consoles, the album boasts an authentic, vintage sound that goes perfectly with the raspy, bluesy punk this trio is spitting. The five song record doesn’t disappoint, Wilcox’s voice is outstanding and plucked straight out of the blues era. Her raspy voice is incredibly unique, as are the power pop infused blues tunes that backs her vocals.
Bareknuckle Love demonstrates the band’s talent and range. The raw edge to their album is incredibly suited to their lyrics and instrumental style. From beginning to end the album screams authenticism alongside Wilcox’s raspy screams.
