Attica’s Ashes – “Flickers of Dawn” [EP]
I think the best way to describe the new release from Attica’s Ashes is a combination of Horror punk infused with a healthy dose of metal. The first comparison that comes to mind has to be The Brains, a better known act playing a similar style of music.

I think Flickers of Dawn is a decent disc that flows well and has tons of energy. For me though, it is pretty much what I would have expected from a band of this genre; there are no real surprises and the disc does not really ever step out of the confines of the genre.
Don’t get the wrong idea though, because I did think it to be a decent record. All in all; however, vocally there were weak moments and the music itself was a bit predictable. I will say that I love the clean crisp production and the artwork is quite stunning which definitely both add to the overall package. Attica’s Ashes have a ways to go, but are headed in the right direction.
