Album Review
Steiner Street – “Time & Temperature”
I’ve always had a real soft spot for good pop-punk, ever since I started listening to Blink182 when I was about 12 years old. This said, with their new release Time & Temperature, the melodic pop-punk band Steiner Street managed to recreate all the things that made me love the genre at that young age. By incorporating several aspects of music that I listen to today however, Steiner Street managed to create something both nostalgic and fresh.

The songs, for the most part, are fast-paced punk rock with undeniably catchy and powerful guitar parts. The vocals are cleanly sung, but with some of that classic punk rock aggression combined with emotional and well-delivered lyrics. I found for that the majority of the lyrics were about things like growing up, leaving home, leaving people behind, and getting through tough times in your life with the help of your friends and family. At no point in my first couple listens did I stop tapping my foot or bobbing my head.
After my first few listens though, I found that the nostalgia started to wear off and I didn’t feel like there was much to draw me back to this release. Over all, I found Time & Temperature to be a very fun and fast-paced offering, definitely worth a listen by all fans of pop punk – nostalgia or not. You can stream the song “Fish In A Barrel” below.
