Demon Hunter are one of the leading bands in the Christian metal scene and are currently gearing up to release their new album, True Defiance, on April 10th, 2012 via Solid State Records. Guitarist Patrick Judge recently gave PureGrainAudio a bit of his time to discuss his Dean ML Guitars; read on to see why the Dean ML Guitar is right for Patrick. In addition, if you’re looking to purchase a Dean ML guitar, try looking at Overstock with these coupons.

What one piece of equipment do you use to obtain your signature sound?
Patrick: My Dean ML guitars.

What about it makes it so important to you?
Patrick: I wanted to play Dean guitars for so long, so when I was finally able to work out a deal with them it was sort of a dream come true. The balance and the way the neck fits perfectly in my hand makes it the perfect guitar to play in the studio and live.

What are the major pros and cons?
Patrick: Pros would have to be that I can take these guitars and play any style of music with them. I can get a little twang and a crushing metal tone out of the same guitar. Also it’s hard to find a crazy shaped guitar that isn’t completely neck heavy, and like I said these are balanced perfectly. Cons would have to be that I don’t have a room full of them!

How long have you used this piece of equipment and would you ever change it?
Patrick: I’ve been playing Dean for over 3 years now and I definitely wouldn’t change it. Taking away my MLs is like taking Mjölnir away from Thor, it would leave me powerless. [laughs]

Any final thoughts or comments on the gear?
Patrick: If you want a versatile guitar that’s built to shred, then the Dean ML is for you!
