Following the official dissolvement of their former distributor, the ILC, The Mylene Sheath partnered with Redeye Distribution to handle retail distribution of their upcoming new releases. The Mylene Sheath will be joining a roster of labels that includes Hydra Head Records, Sargent House, Warp Records, Thrill Jockey Records and Barsuk Records, just to name a few.
Says Mylene Sheath label owners Lindsay Palmer and Joel Proper: “It’s humbling to be in such esteemed company, especially since many of the labels that have helped us along the way and were indeed influences in our own decision to even start a record label in the first place, call Redeye home. We’ve always admired Redeye’s true indie roots, with absolutely no corporate entity to answer to – it’s still owned and operated by the founders – and with a dedicated staff of over fifty employees. To be part of this family means a lot to us, especially given the year that we’ve had in 2011. As any of the post-ILC labels that are still standing can attest to – 2011 has been difficult. But now… onward. We look forward to the imminent growth of the label over the next few years with Redeye and we could most definitely not be happier about the future.”
The Mylene Sheath’s first street date with Redeye will be November 18th, on that date they’ll be re-soliciting the new album from Beware Of Safety entitled ‘Leaves/Scars’ and upcoming new album from Beneath Oblivion entitled ‘From Man To Dust,’ both to be available on CD, 2xLP and digital format. Additional new releases to be announced shortly will be available on November 22nd and December 6th respectively.
