Bedlight for Blue Eyes: “Arena Rock, Freddy Mercury Style”
Take Fall Out Boy, strip away the endorsements and internet nudity, and add the ability to produce music that steers clear of those glossy break up songs and you have the New Jersey heroes known as Bedlight For Blue Eyes. Apologies to FOB and all their fans, credit is to be given to a group who can avoid the overpowering shadow of the pop/punk bandwagon.

But for a band that has done well to not sell their souls to rock n roll, these guys have had a busy year from non-stop touring to the release of an EP and a full length album; which gives no surprise to being Trustkill’s spotlight at the moment.
With more than a few line up changes taking place over the past couple of years (Bishburg being the only original member), the band has finally found that perfect chemistry needed to withstand year round tours and the release of a heavily pressed album. Newer members, including Danny Rinaldi who was 18 at the time of joining the band, have brought talent that have risen the bar on the genre they seemed to be mistakenly put into. What at first starts out as another glossy pop-emo release actually takes shape and forms into an album with its own originality and charm. The new album showcases larger-than-life hooks, witty lyrics and bouncy riffs that the duo tends to keep crisp and clean from beginning to end.
Apart from being mentioned in almost every major music rag in North America, the boys from Jersey have been creating a fan following by touring non stop long before and after the release of their internet EP and CD, Life on Life’s Terms. Sharing the stage with the likes of Boys Night Out, Static Lullaby, Hawthorne Heights and Roses are Red; Bedlight has had a spotlight on them in front of quite a few large audiences. This, along with the newly found trend of releasing digital EPs, has been quite the lucky charm for the band.
Luck? Talent? The success of this band I am leaving for my loyal fans to decide, but the ability to turn heads is one quality that they possess and will tip my hat to. It’s hard to be playing a type of music you love and to get thrown into that group of bands where the next step is to be in a Gap ad. But in the case of Bedlight, they definitely show us that arena rock can still come hand in hand with talent and the ability to play music. [ END ]
Note: Bedlight For Blue Eyes will be on tour with New Found Glory & Sense Fail during the months of October and November! Be sure to check them out!!!
