In the emerging scene of psychedelic resurgence, there is a sort of connectivity between artists and enthusiasts that transcends time and place. Such is exemplary in the up-and-coming Danish band Black Light White Light, who are steadily gaining recognition all around with their lysergic grooves and infectiously groovy sound. Check out what Martin Ejlertsen, singer and guitarist for the group, had to say about the past and expectant future of psychedelic music.

What better way to gear up for a hot new album then by downloading the lead-off single for free? Well that’s exactly what southern rock trio StoneRider are doing ahead of the February 28th release of their sophomore effort, Fountains Left To Wake. From now until forever, you can grab the song “Trigger Happy” right here and share it with your peeps!

You’re standing in a dimly lit club, in the middle of a tightly packed crowd, and everyone is focusing on the stage with hushed anticipation. A projector behind you screens light and pattern in dizzying flashes, adding to your growing paranoia and disorientation. One seats himself behind a drum set, and the other positions himself behind a mic in the front and grabs a 12-string Vox guitar.

Orbe was born in 2004 near Milan, Italy by people each with different musical backgrounds. Orbe is Andrea on drums, Andrea on guitar and synth, Juri on guitar and Fabio on bass and programming. The band worked hard to find a way to express themselves with their music and came to define their project as “Instrumental alternative rock”.

Kevin Hensley is what I would call hard rock royalty; his work with Uriah Heep and Blackfoot has left a lasting impact on the music world. On this new release, Faster, Hensley returns with his band to crank out 12 really good, hard rock tunes. True to his roots this album has a huge 70’s rock and roll vibe and includes a heavy dose of keyboards (something Hensley has been known for) as well as some terrific fret shredding.

With their new record, this New Jersey quartet continue the progression of a band from live powerhouse to expert song-crafters, blending a seductive combination of soul, British blues, and a dose of garage rock. The catalyst for their latest album came when front man Justin Angelo Morey heard the song “If It’s All The Same To you Babe” by the Luther Ingram Orchestra which led him down a road towards a deeper rooted soul feel and more introspective emotions.
