The Angry Kids – Sworn – EP Review
Warner Music Canada
By Johna Autencio
This week, The Angry Kids released their new EP Sworn, which is the group’s third album.
The first single off the album is called “Battle (It’s Beautiful)” featuring Belle Humble – in my opinion, it’s the best song off the entire EP because of the techno beats and sound.
Considering The Angry Kids are known for their indie-dance music, it’s no surprise that Humble was featured in the first track of the EP. Humble may not be Ellie Goulding, but her voice has a certain sound that reflects the “I Need Your Love” singer.
The rest of the six-track EP has songs featuring artists like Fader Joe and Odissi, as well as a rendition of Bob Marley’s “Sun Is Shining.” Although their remix is a modernized version to continuously keep Marley’s music alive, it doesn’t compare to the original 1978 release from the famous Jamaican reggae musician.
Overall, The Angry Kids’s new EP was an acceptable album; however, this review comes from someone who doesn’t listen to that much dance music. If you’re the type to go clubbing on the weekends, then there is no doubt that you’ll be dancing to Sworn until your feet hurt.
Happy dancing!
