Celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2024, Love to be… is a seminal club night, record label and one of the cornerstones of the early UK House music scene.
Seminal club night, record label and one of the cornerstones of the UK early House music scene, the influence of Love to be… cannot be understated. Celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2024, this much-loved brand is announcing a huge series of global parties and significant releases as they continue to unite generations of house music fans around the world. For more information, please visit www.lovetobeevents.co.uk.
For original founder Tony Walker and business partner Marc Dennis, Love to be… began its epic journey to the forefront of the UK Club scene in 1994, back at the Music Factory in Sheffield. Love To Be… went on to be instrumental in establishing the popularity of house music in the UK. Their events were among the first to book now-legendary artists from US pioneers Masters at Work, Todd Terry, Frankie Knuckles, and Roger Sanchez to UK artists Dave Seaman and Pete Tong and, in recent years, household names such as Low Steppa, Sonny Fodera, David Penn, Mousse T. and Flashmob have made appearances at Love to be…
Championed as the “North’s original super club” and winner of numerous awards, Love to be… set the standard for house music events in the UK. With cutting-edge club decor, stilt walkers, flamboyant dancers and hosts, coupled with the finest resident DJs supporting world-class guests, Love to be… built a huge following and remains a hugely influential force to this day.
Marc Dennis & Tony Walker comment:
“It’s been a hell of a journey to get this point and we feel privileged to have been able to do our part in supporting House music over the past 30 years. Our brand has developed from the early days of a weekly event in Sheffield UK to expand around the world with global events over the past 3 decades.
“Our plans for the 30th year are to add some of the biggest international talent to our line ups, break new artists via the label and events and also pay homage to our history by adding some legendary names on to the events. As we celebrate the milestone, Love to be… will still deliver that proper 90s atmosphere combined with a modern-day vibe. We can’t wait.”
Far from a heritage brand, Love to be… has remained active throughout the last three decades, hosting events and releasing music via their label. Now to celebrate three decades on this iconic brand, Love to be… are announcing a huge series of events taking place throughout 2024.
UK shows already announced include Mint Warehouse, Leeds, on Saturday 10 Feb with Marshall Jefferson and Julie McKnight, Canvas, Manchester Sunday, 10 March with Mousse. T, Doorly and Trimtone and a huge 3-stage day festival back where it all began in Sheffield, Saturday, April 27. Lineup is TBA, but you can expect a massive international lineup featuring some of the biggest names in house music.
Following the riotous success of a sold-out party in Sydney, Australia, in December with Basement Jaxx headlining, further Australia dates will be announced in the coming months.
Love to be… will also be hosting anniversary parties in Miami for Miami Music Week, Amsterdam for ADE and a very special one-off show at Eden, Ibiza, while many more UK and international shows will be announced as the year progresses, including Love to be…’s very own UK festival in September.
