Christie Oakes, the soaring voice behind Bella D, says of the song: “Story-wise, ‘The Crystal Ceiling’ is a cybernetic trip through the Matrix. But in reality, It’s actually a metaphor for life and what’s beyond it. The music is very complex with its crazy meter and the lyrics are equally challenging. This song is for the people who like analyze to their everyday music…because there is not a thing about it that can be considered ‘everyday.’ It takes a few listens but you truly will feel like you’ve taken a trip through the infinite channels of the matrix by the time you are done with it.”
