Ozzy Osbourne – “God Bless Ozzy Ozbourne” [Blu-ray Review]
God Bless Ozzy Osbourne is a documentary about the man, the myth and the legend that is Ozzy Osbourne. Directed by Ozzy’s son Jack, this is an in-depth look at the incredible journey of one of the most well-known hard rockers in the world. The intimate interviews with family and friends, including Tommy Lee and Henry Rollins, give the film a depth that allows the viewer a sneak peek behind the scenes.

The thing I like the most about this film is that it goes deeper than the tabloid headlines about the bats and the doves and succeeds in exposing the human side of the larger-than-life rock icon; warts and all. It really digs into his long time battle with drugs and alcohol and the toll it took on his family and friends over the last 40 years, in a celebration of sorts at his longest lasting period of sobriety.
It will make you laugh and it will tug at your heart strings, but at the heart of it all this is a film about Ozzy’s 40 year battle with his demons, his insecurities and his ultimate triumph at the age of 60. Included in the footage are some very cool, rare interviews of guitar great Randy Rhodes which, as a huge fan, I found super cool. Bottom line, this is a very well done and informative film that I highly recommend checking out.
Run Time: 135 minutes
