RYDYR Dares to “Dream Alone” in His Stripped-Down Performance Video [Premiere]
If you’re going to “Dream Alone” then you may as well dream big. That’s exactly what our latest featured artist, RYDYR is doing with his new performance music video for his latest single. “Dream Alone” is the first snippet of what you’ll hear on RYDYR’s upcoming EP, which is due out later this year. Backed by some beautiful melodies and his own soulful piano playing, “Dream Alone” is a perfect introduction to the types of sounds you’ll hear on the EP, a collection of bold and bright pop tunes that favour live instruments over studio beats. It also promises to carry with it a large dose of honesty and relatable lyrics, just like RYDYR is as an individual. Be sure to also check out the next single, “See You Around.”
Checking in with regards to the debut of the “Dream Alone” video, RYDYR offered, “Thanks everyone for the love. Hope you guys enjoy this mellow version of ‘Dream Alone’ from my studio… got to bring out my favourite little lady, the 77 Rhodes! Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy, and isn’t too lonely… Much love.”
While the name RYDYR may not yet ring a bell, pop group IM5 might. RYDYR is the alias of Cole Pendery who was a member of the three-piece pop group IM5 that had a run of success between their formation in 2012 and their hiatus that began in 2015. Originally from Dallas, Pendery moved to LA to kickstart his career in music. He quickly found success through the Disney Channel, and then IM5, before he decided to recalculate his career and go his own way.
Throughout 2018 and 2019, Pendery put himself in a position for growth and success by focusing on songwriting and coming up with his best material for a debut EP. He found a large asset in producer Zakk Cervini (Good Charlotte, Poppy) who has been instrumental in the evolution of RYDYR. More than just a singer or an artist, Pendery demonstrated great forethought by founding his own record label Shadowwood Records in order to release his new music. Having great knowledge of the music industry and how to navigate through it, RYDYR has positioned himself for success as he now enters the next stage of his career.
