Romano Nervoso Proves Why He’s the Godfather of Spaghetti Rock with “The Son of God” [Song Premiere]
There’s one man brave enough to lead the charge of the “Rocking Dead,” and that man’s name is Romano Nervoso. Born in Italy and now based in Belgium, Nervoso and his band are ready to unveil their latest creation, the aforementioned and ever so cleverly titled The Return of The Rocking Dead, on April 10th via Mottow Soundz. From that record now comes the first single “The Son of God,” a song has an almost Western movie vibe to it which is also catchy as hell.
As he explains, Roman had a pretty clever reason for writing this song. “I wrote and arranged this song in collaboration with a French friend of mine named François Maigret. I hold this track most dear to my heart because it references my father’s studies to become a priest when he was in his early 20s before choosing to follow a completely different path. It’s essentially about even in times like these, with that constant threat of the world ending, not even the son of god can save us from ourselves.”
With three albums already behind him, the Godfather of Spaghetti Rock is ready to dish it out once again with a brand new collection of tunes that further demonstrate his one-of-a-kind charisma and originality. Lyrically, the album leans a lot on politics, religion and your every day social issues with of course Romano’s trademark presence. Musically, Romano and the band have served up a record that is like a bowl of spaghetti that’s been spilled all over the place. Only Romano Nervoso would be capable of bringing together the likes of Marilyn Manson, Marc Bolan and Lucio Battisti, but he succeeds at it and pulls it off with style and aplomb. It’s darker than his previous albums, perhaps more personal, but there’s also an evolution and a maturity that you did not see on his previous work. Romano recorded the album in his home studio with the assistance of his longtime collaborator Moorad Agjij.
It’s dinner time and the main dish is being served up very eloquently by Romano Nervoso. Won’t you please be our guest and join us?
