Skycabin – “Insidia” [Song Review]
Merging dense, primeval sensuality and nuanced, evocative vocals, Skycabin’s “Insidia” conveys the feeling of being subsumed into spellbinding darkness.
Trip-hop duo Skycabin unveils their new track, “Insidia,” a song about seduction inspired by Simone de Beauvoir’s book, Ethical Seduction.
Formed in 2020, Skycabin is made up of Farbod and Sepand, whose sound blends elements of alt-electronic, alt-R&B, and avant-garde with trip-hop ingredients. Since then, Skycabin has released a series of tracks, collectively amassing more than 300,000 streams on Spotify. Each track is accompanied by a gorgeously wrought, surreal music video.
At the present juncture, Skycabin is preparing to release their debut EP, Somnia, as a visual anthology.
Simultaneously dark, mysterious, and wickedly voluptuous, “Insidia” rides a tight, mid-tempo trip-hop rhythm topped by shadowy droning harmonics and haunting vocals, imbuing the lyrics with beguiling tones.
“I’m gonna stop time, lead it, breath this scene all night / I’m gonna take time, twist existence in my sight / I want your fatal eyes / What you’re made of, numbs my sorrow / You know the light dies, time flies, our lines ties along / Ties along.”
Merging dense, primeval sensuality and nuanced, evocative vocals, “Insidia” conveys the feeling of being subsumed into spellbinding darkness.
