Rock music is the beacon for activism, and Little Falls Trophy is making a stark statement with their brand new single “Project 6636.” The song comes off the band’s latest record, Dutch Motel, which was released in July via Rock Ridge Music.

Today marks the official debut of the song’s accompanying music video, with the clip visualizing the song’s general message. You might not expect a song from a male-led act to make such a feminist-centered statement, but that’s just what Little Falls Trophy leader Doug Albregts does on this new single.

Discussing the song and music video, Albregts states:

“‘Project 6636’ pulsates with a driving dance beat, amplifying the harsh realities of women caught in the grind. The lyrics cut through with stark honesty, narrating a tale of exploitation where the downtrodden are kicked both in their moments of strength and vulnerability. This anthemic track challenges the status quo, using its rhythm as a call to action against the systemic oppression faced by women working for the man. A relentless sonic journey, it embodies the struggle, resilience, and unyielding spirit of those who refuse to be silenced in the face of exploitation and oppression.

“The lyrics speak to the collective strength of those who have weathered a storm, and the music is haunting yet upbeat, to signify the energy of hope. The driving beat and diverse melodies become a declaration of liberation, a testament to the indomitable spirit that refuses to be crushed by the weight of exploitation.

“In the end, ‘Project 6636’ is a poignant commentary on the human experience, a reflection of the harsh realities faced by many in the pursuit of a better life. Through its evocative lyrics, the song beckons listeners to confront the uncomfortable truths that linger in the shadows, inspiring a collective call for change and a world where dreams are not bought and sold, but nurtured and realized.”

Dutch Motel is very much the creation of Albregts, a real reflection of where he currently is in life. Each of the record’s eleven songs are chronicles of modern life. Albregts is not new to any of this; he’s been seriously pursuing music since the late 1980s. He has learned a lot in that time, rolling with the punches and evolving as time goes by.

With time on his side, he had a songwriting breakthrough during the pandemic-related lockdowns. He channelled his emotions into his songwriting and began writing about his feelings. He perceived nothing but anxiety around him and began to funnel that into his songwriting. Once he accomplished this, he felt many new creative avenues open.

As an artist, Albregts has never been more open-minded. And that open-mindedness has served him well as he proceeds with one of the most exciting musical chapters of his life.
