Country singer-songwriter Evanthia releases her debut single, “The Deep End.” Co-written with chart-topping country songwriters Wyatt Durette and Tyler Filmore, the country-pop single seamlessly blends contemporary pop, singer-songwriter, and country music elements. “The Deep End” perfectly encapsulates the feeling of helplessly falling in love and sets the tone for future releases to come for the up-and-coming singer.

Currently, Evanthia can be found in the studio songwriting and performing at local Nashville venues like The Bluebird Cafe. We sat down with the Nashville-based artist to discuss her upcoming music, creative process, and surprising hobby.

You have just released your new single, “The Deep End.” What can you tell us about it? What was your experience of making it?

Evanthia: “‘The Deep End’ was such a fun song to write. I had great co-writers on this track, Wyatt Durette and Fillmore. We just vibed from the beginning. From the lyrics to the melody etc. When that happens, you know the song is gonna be amazing. I hope that with this song, I can showcase my voice through the lyrics. I want to be a relatable artist. I feel that “The Deep End” captures the vulnerability we face in relationships. Is that person falling for me the way I am, or is this all just a fairytale? Am I strong enough to walk away if they don’t feel the same?”

Who is your biggest musical inspiration?

Evanthia: “I feel like there are several musical inspos for me. I would say, Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift and Patty Griffin. They all embody what it takes to be an icon in the industry. I love all of their music styles, presentations, and realness. When you dive into their careers and see the amount of work and passion they put into their careers, it’s simply so inspirational.”

How would you describe your creative process?

Evanthia: “I take most of my song inspirations from my journal. Some days it’s a personal experience, and some days it’s something I create from something I witnessed. It is also nice when you have amazing co-writers on your team as well. With more minds, more ideas happen, and then more magic can happen.”

Which do you enjoy the most: writing, recording, or playing live?

Evanthia: “That is such a hard question. I love the whole process. Each one is so important in the creative process. Writing is super important as it is the beginning of the process. And recording is where you bring the writing to life. Playing live is always rewarding as this is when you get to connect with your listeners.”

What is a fun fact about you that people wouldn’t know?

Evanthia: “I train weekly in martial arts, Krav Maga, and boxing. I also train with my personal trainer Gunnar Peterson two times a week. He has brought me to a whole new level. Part of being a performer is having a healthy lifestyle. This is very important to me and many artists. It also helps release any tension you might have. We all have that.”

What do you think is your greatest accomplishment?

Evanthia: “I have had several accomplishments that are all up there on the same level. But one that recently stands out I think, would be making Spotify’s new Country Artist playlist the following day that I released my single. That was such an honor. To have listeners stream my music at all is a huge accomplishment and blessing.”

What’s next for you now the single has been released?

Evanthia: “I’m going back in the studio to record my next single and add on more performances. I have been busy writing more songs as well. Literally can’t wait to showcase my songs!! Thank you so very much for talking with me. I can’t wait to share more soon! Don’t forget to follow me on my socials @evanthia_theodorou.
