Zander Schloss to Drop “I’ll Be Your Friend” off New Album ‘Californias Burning’
Punk icon Zander Schloss’ new record ‘Californias Burning’ is a slab of sophisticated, lush, and orchestral Baroque Pop out this fall!

Punk icon Zander Schloss’ new record is a slab of sophisticated, lush, and orchestral, Baroque Pop. Californias Burning is out this fall, but you don’t have to wait until the leaves start to fall for a taste. The first single is out this Friday!
Fast’n’Loud icon Zander Schloss, known for his role as bassist in seminal So-Cal punk group Circle Jerks (and his appearance as “Kevin the Nerd” in Repo Man) also happens to have a real talent for crafting breathtakingly beautiful, lightly psychedelic, orchestral acoustic music. His new record Californias Burning (out October 13th via Blind Owl), is an immersive and cinematic amble through fingerpicked, 12-string acoustic guitar meditations.
Produced by and featuring Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age, P.J. Harvey, Them Crooked Vultures, Chris Cornell, Mark Lanegan) playing everything under the sun and singing harmony, the record also features performances by Beth Goodfellow (Iron & Wine, Calexico), Brandon Rauch (Turtles on Speed) Johnny Shepherd (Daniel Lanois), Sylvain Carton (Phi Sonics), Craig Eastman (Hans Zimmer, Van Dyke Parks), and Seth Ford Young (Tom Waits, Edward Sharpe), the record captures Schloss’ elevation from punk rock legend to masterful songwriter and musical director.
You can pre-save the single “I’ll Be Your Friend” in advance of its release this Friday.
