Homade Wins Recording Deal from A Diamond Heart Production
Homade, an all-girl and all-queer rock band from New York, NY, wins a recording contract with A Diamond Heart Production.
Homade wins! Wins what, you ask? Well, in December 2022, singer, songwriter, record producer, and A Diamond Heart Production label owner Vanessa Silberman launched a contest for LGBTQ music artists and bands to win a free single recording deal, free recording time, and artist development mentoring.
This week, Silberman announced a winning band, Homade, an all-girl and all-queer rock band from New York, NY. Get more info on the band here: https://linktr.ee/homade.nyc.
Silberman comments as follows”
“I discovered this band had a great message, goals, passion, and talent with limited funding and resources, so it was compelling to select them. I received so many amazing submissions with a lot of potential, great songs, branding, and image already built as well as experience, but I really wanted to pick a band that could use the extra support and that would benefit the most from this offer. A big part of launching this contest was to shine a light on more females as well as LGBTQ music artists. Over my 20 years in the music industry, many people gave me amazing opportunities and this was one of my ways of giving back by helping uplift and shine a light on other female artists.”
Homade was formed in August 2021 and has since grown a local fan base in the Brooklyn and New York area. The band’s music and live shows deliver fresh, vibrant, energized, playful and confrontational style performances that are akin to the spirit of ’90s and classic punk while also experimenting with different genres like psych-rock and shoegaze.
