Premiere: Feel Good with Wicked World’s New “Music” Music Video
Cape Town, South Africa’s four-piece Wicked World premiere their music video for “Music,” a free-styling, free-spirited affair, with the band demonstrating their “wicked” chemistry and heartwarming togetherness.
It’s a “wicked world” out there. Fortunately, we have “Music” to get us through the hard times. That’s right; it’s the power of music that can help us move forward, like the enthusiastic sounds of acoustic rockers Wicked World.
Today, the four-piece South African group is unveiling their brand new music video for “Music,” a free-styling, free-spirited affair, with the band demonstrating their “wicked” chemistry and heartwarming togetherness. There’s a ’60s feel to it, an unpretentiousness that can’t help but endear you to this excellent ensemble.
Explaining the song and music video, the band tells us:
“‘Music’ is a light-hearted song about being hungover and the flashbacks to the silliness of ‘the night before.’ The embarrassment eventually subsides and the life lessons are learned. We wanted to make an equally light-hearted music video to go with the song, and so, as you would expect from a typical, ‘unhappy in his work,’ ‘chasing the wrong dream’ human, the main character in this video, Wicked World singer Ruan plays out all of these clichés with determination and humour! Enjoy!”
They have made great strides in their short time together, but really, Wicked World is essentially a brand-new band. Based out of Cape Town, each member of the group is a real student of their craft, sharing a love for melody and harmony. Their sound is diverse, featuring folk, light rock, and a pinch of blues. They are currently assembling their debut album, which they hope to release over the next few months, with lots of great “Music” yet to share!
