Singapore Shoegaze Trio Coming Up Roses Channel 90s Nostalgia on ‘Would You Ever?’
Channelling their shared experiences into their music, Singapore shoegazers Coming Up Roses release the breezy anthem “Would You Ever?”
Singapore based alt-indie trio Coming Up Roses prepare for their appearance at this year’s Canadian Music Week in Toronto, with the release of their new single, “Would You Ever?”
The track, lifted from their recently released Everything Is EP, which dropped on May 20th, is an emotive indie-pop anthem built up with breezy, uplifting textures and honed through singer Emily Sera’s unique, heartfelt delivery.
Check out the track here:
Speaking about the track, the trio explain:
‘Would You Ever’ is about leaving the life that you currently live to pursue the life that you’ve always wanted, despite the things that you’ve gone through.” This is perhaps fitting as the band now seek to take a leap of faith by leaving their home of Singapore to pursue a music career abroad in the UK
Since the release of their Waters debut release three years ago, it has been a rollercoaster ride for the band. Along with the complete upheaval faced by bands during the pandemic, the Singapore shoegaze band recently saw the departure of drummer Bruce Tan.
Taking all of this into account and using their shared experiences to inspire the new EP, Everything Is, guitarist Lorenzo Romero is suitably excited about the future.
‘Everything Is’ is a compilation of songs that reflect on our exploration of ourselves and the world around us. We’re starting to find our place and develop that sense of belonging, and we’re excited for the road ahead.
These exciting times start for the band on June 8th and 9th, with an appearance in The Paddock, Toronto during Canadian Music Week.
